Road to Sheffield 2025 - Kjell Bakkelund
Kjell Bakkelund is one of the most decorated athletes in the sport - with a combined five world championships across classic and equipped powerlifting since he began competing in 2007. When hip injuries threatened the end of his career in 2019, he was warned that he might only have five years left in the sport. Rather than shying away from what he believes he was born to do, Bakkelund now prepares to take on that fifth year with the biggest event of his career to date - and look to win at Sheffield 2025.

Road to Sheffield 2025 - Alba Bostrom
Competing at her first open international competition and winning best lifter at the junior world championships last year, Alba Boström is now just kilos away from the 63kg total world record. The Swede will now join America's Meghan Scanlon and France's Lya Bavoil in looking to push the 63kg total higher, as they compete in the deepest women's class at Sheffield 2025.

Dedicating his Sheffield 2023 performance to his mother, Jesus Olivares raised the world record by more than 4% with a total of 1152.5kg to become the first ever man to win Sheffield. After placing second to last at Sheffield 2024, Olivares is determined to redeem himself and show that he can make history yet again, as he prepares to compete as a father for the first time.​

Last year Jesus Olivares delivered the heaviest total raw powerlifting has ever seen. Now Sheffield champion, Olivares wants to return and prove that he is far from finished. Returning to Sheffield next month, Olivares is looking to not only reclaim his title, but to build an even greater legacy in the sport.
Road to Sheffield 2024 - Gavin Adin
Gavin Adin's 336.5kg (742lb) world record squat attempt was overturned by the jury at the 2023 Sheffield Powerlifting Championships - a decision booed by an audience of thousands. Adin is no stranger to such adversity, and faced similar trials at IPF Worlds, again losing a squat to a jury decision. Yet despite such setbacks, Adin secured a podium spot at Sheffield 2023 and ended the year with one of the strongest totals in the IPF. Now the American looks to prove to himself and others what his potential in the sport is - and Sheffield will provide another opportunity to do so.
Road to Sheffield 2024 - Sonita Muluh
Sonita Kyen Muluh did not have an easy start to life, facing adversity growing up in Cameroon and later Belgium. Struggling to find a place to belong, powerlifting gave her that outlet, and helped her find a home within the sport's community. Muluh developed the ability to move past what her body looked like, and to be able to focus on what she could accomplish. By competing on bigger and bigger stages, she aims to show others the sport that has given her so much confidence, hoping that by competing at Sheffield 2024 she will be able to spread the sport to Africa, where she thinks the possibiltiies for powerlifting will be limtless.
Road to Sheffield 2024 - Agata Sitko
Inspired by Evie's surprise move to the 52kg class at the 2023 Sheffield Powerlifting Championships, Agata Sitko has decided to join Lya Bavoil and Carola Garra in the 69kg division. Totaling 590.5kg in the 76kg division at worlds and then 587.5kg at Girl Power in October at a lighter body weight, Agata is confident that she will dominate at Sheffield in February.

Delaney Wallace finds ways to balance long days at work and long sessions at the gym, and to pull strengths from both. The two-time world champion works around the clock to demonstrate that as a “man of structure” he can excel across multiple dimensions.
